From the Commodore: Carl D. Galian

Hard to believe it is already mid-August! The summer at the club has been a memorable one. This couldn’t be possible without the members who have volunteered on the various Club committees. Many thanks to this long list of individuals. Your help is always needed and appreciated to support our social activities and in maintaining the club as the special place that it is. In that vein, I’m pleased to report the nominating committee has identified candidates for the treasurer and director positions. Thank you to the individuals who have offered their time and talents. The 2022 slate has been posted at the clubhouse entrance.

New members, please don’t be shy about getting involved. Volunteering also gets you off the probation list! If you have a special talent or skill you can offer the club, please contact a board member and we will set you in motion!

This new Web site is almost complete. Our start up phase will enable social event sign ups, starting with Happy Hours. You will be able to RSVP and pay in advance. As previously mentioned, you will still be able to pay in person if preferred. Once this testing phase is completed, we will advance to booking all events that occur at Babylon Yacht Club through the website. Paying for membership will also be a function of the website. We hope this will be seen as a positive and convenient change. Over the course of the rest of the season we will continue to roll out functionality. We appreciate any and all feedback regarding the site.
